Arrival:
Choose your slot when booking: Either Morning Slot 8am - 12noon or Evening Slot 4pm - 8pm
(*we are aware arrivals on a Friday evening may be delayed by traffic - call us if delayed or you change slot).
Reception is closed from 12 noon to 4pm
Departure: By 12 noon please.
How to book: Adults only aged 18+

We don't take phone calls due to volume of enquiries at peak times.

Booking information:
A quiet relaxing tranquil site for Adults (18 year +) and tents (VWs, trailer tents are welcome too).
Groups not encouraged in order for us to maintain the peaceful atmosphere.
Tariff is £25 per pitch from 1 April - 30th June 2012. £30 per pitch per night 1 July - 31 August 2011.
Tariff for a "pitch" is for 1 tent with 1 or 2 adults.
Tariff includes large wooden picnic bench per pitch, use of fridge freezers, showers & parking
Payment must be made with online booking at time of booking please.
Confirmation email sent from auto booking system immediately.
Debit Cards no surcharge. Credit Cards 2.5% surcharge. No Amex, Diners Club cards.

Minimum stay 2 nights (see T&Cs foot of page and online booking form)
Pitches are numbered for our admin purposes, pitch where you like on arrival.
Camping field has flat areas and flat "cut aways" for pitching tents.
No refund/transfer for bad weather or early departure
If cancelled money refunded only if pitch booked is relet for full period booked less £10 admin fee.

If you have a problem whilst here we do our best to rectify it and assist you.
Suggest you take out holiday insurance.
RIVER COTTAGE HQ
We are the nearest B&B and Campsite to River Cottage HQ just over 1.5 miles away.
Book taxi in advance - see menu for numbers and taxi share.
It is possible to walk but note no pavement or street lighting for 90% of the walk
Bring torch and luminous jacket if walking to either the HQ or our local pub.
What we have:
A pretty field of with only 10 spacious pitches for tents.
Overlooking a wooded valley set back from the road.
Grass regularly cut but not overly short - bring suitable footwear for dewy mornings.
Maximum of 20 campers on site at any time.
Friendly host and lots of visitor information on site.
Car parking next to tent or in campers car park if returning after dark.
Taxi pick up point clearly identified by side of main house.
Walking distance to well lit shower/wet rooms. Bring suitable footwear for shower/wet room & dewy mornings.
Pub & bus stop at end of our road. Near a small Post Office with shop and newspapers.
Great star gazing at night, peaceful atmosphere, overlooking wooded valley.
Near Train station at Axminster. Book taxi in advance or catch 31 bus to Hunters Lodge Pub.
Libraries in local towns and LymeNet, Church Street, in Lyme Regis to use computers.
Facilities we have:
Parking next to tent & Campers Car Park for wet weather & parking after dark.
Facilities well lit. No lights on camping field or camping car park so bring a torch.
BBQ Slabs for your disposable BBQ - any sort welcome.
Shower Wet Rooms
A ladies & gents wet room/shower with loo & sink. And another separate loo.
Lots of hot water, soft loo roll, shaver point & socket for hair drier, soap, mirrors & hand driers.
Suggest you bring flip flops or similar for wet room/shower room.
For a maximim of 10 ladies and 10 gents these are ample facilities compared to many sites!
Campers Kitchen
Free use of Fridge Freezers provided (food & drink left at owners risk, but fortunately no thefts so far!).
Campers kichen has drinking water, washing up areas and several fridge freezers.
Bins for your rubbish (bring bin bags please).
Bins for your recycling box for metal, bottles, paper, tins. Not cardboard..
What we don't have:
No tarred pathways through the field - bring suitable footwear.
No lighting on the field itself. Facilities & paths well lit.
No electric hook up. No chemical waste disposal.
No children, no pets, no motor homes, no caravans.
No camp fires that burn the grass itself. BBQs welcome.
No Chinese lanterns that are lit and fly off are not allowed for safety reasons please.
No late night noise, loud music or rowdy behaviour.
No Wi Fi. Local Libraries and LymeNet in Lyme Regis for computer services.
General area information:
On a clear night this is a great place to watch the stars.
3 minute walk to the local pub (Hunters Lodge Inn), Post Office, small shop & newspapers. No Pavement!
1.5 miles to River Cottage HQ (30-40 mins walk - long entrance drive at HQ - no pavement),
2 miles to River Cottage Canteen in Axminster
2.4 miles to Lyme Regis, seaside & Jurassic Coast (No.31 bus from Inn)
3 minutes walk to bus stop (No. 31 goes from Axminster train to Inn/us to Lyme)
45 minutes drive on clear day to drive to Portland Bill home of Olympic Yatching Events in 2012.
Things to remember to bring with you:
Apart from your tent:
Disposable BBQ a good idea. Freezer blocks to put in our freezers free of charge.
Ordnance Survey maps - can be purchased from local garages.
Torch & bright jacket for walking the road, camp field and walk to River Cottage HQ as no pavement.
Flip flops for shower/wet room. Suitable footwear as field can be dewy in the morning.
First aid and safety:
You must report immediately any accident of any sort whatsoever if it occurred on our premises.
First Aid kit in rear porch of our main house open 24/7.
Fire Extinguisher in Campers Kitchen & fire buckets dotted around field. Hose with water near to field.
We don't advise you to walk on main road to Lyme Regis as no pavement - map of village lane walk provided.
Bring torch & bright jacket for walking to River Cottage HQ, Pub etc. No pavement on road.
No lighting on our camp field itself. Facilties well lit.
