10 Spacious Pitches tents & adults only.
Each pitch for up to 2 adults has a wooden picnic bench. Suitable for couples or solo campers. Set in a beautiful and peaceful rural field away from the road overlooking a wooded valley. You may pitch where you like and there are several "flat cut aways" in the field.
There are no tarred paths on the field.
Its just a pretty field with grass trimmed for camping with good facilities.
Walking distance of the Hunters Lodge Inn (that serves food till 9pm Tel: 01297 33286), a bus stop and Post Office with small shop. Short drive to the coast and convenient for River Cottage HQ just 1.3 miles away. Taxi numbers provided on booking.
The Camper's Shower
No queues. Use all included in the tariff. A modern well lit clean shower facility within easy walking distance of the field that is open at all times. The shower wet-rooms each have a push button shower, free hot water, sink, mirror, toilet, soap dispenser, warm air hand drier and soft toilet roll. There is also a separate toilet facility and area with mirror, shaver point and socket for hair drier. Recommend you bring flip flops for the shower/wet room.
The Camper's Kitchen
Well lit with two washing up areas, several fridge freezers (for your essentials), visitor information, taxi numbers. Drinking water is available in several marked areas. Dustbins provided - please bring bin liners. There is a bottle bank and we have private waste contractor Viridor who help recyle.
Safety & BBQs
You are most welcome to bring your own BBQ set we cannot accommodate "open" camp fires.
Please remember this is a field and although cut regularly the grass in the mornings can be full of dew so
bring appropriate footwear to walk around the field.
Walking to Hunters Lodge Inn, bus stop and River Cottage HQ. There is no pavement or street lighting so it is essential to bring a torch and luminous jacket for your safety. After dark please leave your car in the campers car park so sleeping campers are not disturbed. Driving speed 5 mph on or around Hedgehog Corner. We do not encourage groups as we wish to keep the tranquil atmosphere.
